Comments:We heard the "Dog hunting Man" song And it made our hair stand on end, our hearts started racing, and we had goose bumps from the minute we heard the dogs. This is the absolute Best song ever made and We are grateful that SOMEONE finally got something right. This song is true to life with the way we live and hunt, as well as the way people think that their way is better than ours. This has been a tradition handed down from generation to generation through many, many families and it is part of who WE are. It is sad that new people move to our areas and all of a sudden our way of life is wrong. We are avid dog hunters, both deer and in the fox pens. We treat our dogs better than alot of these people treat their families and they say that we are wrong. HA. Our dogs are better than well fed, given proper medical treatment when necessary, and live in Very good conditions. We care deeply for our dogs and we are PROUD tp be dog hunters. Thanks for everything.

Comments:Just wanted to let everyone know that the oldest, most established, rule abiding dog club in Coosa Cty has finally fallen victim to Montgomery politics and Captain Hicks of Prattville, Ala. By using his office and position for personal gain and favors, he has undermined the entire conservation department and the tax payers that continue to pay his salary. Im no lawyer, but if i am correct, that is highly against the law to use your public office for personal gains and favors. The sad part of the deal was that he himself stated that he would do it last year. After having his wrists slaped by Montgomery, he in turn walked across the street to International Paper in Montgomery and the rest is history. We had zero game law vilations and the support of our local game wardens. Only bogus complaints and friends of Captain Hicks were the only basis for this action. We will probably never get our dogs back, but his job would be a nice trophy to hang on the wall. People like him need not to b

One is a large male about 1 1/2 years old, the other is smaller, a female , also about 1 to 2 years old. My son put a lot of time training these dogs. He is very upset. He used the dogs for coon hunting. He trained the dogs from pups. I can be contacted at bdonna48@yahoo.com or 251-979-9095, thankyou

Comments:I was raised in Mobile,County hunting deer with dogs. Some buddies and myself hunted several counties which bordered Mobile. I moved to the Southeastern part of the state about 5 years ago and never thought dog hunting could be taken away until I saw it firsthand. I now hunt in Henry county in a club named Panther Creek HC. We were put on the permit system several years ago. The system basically gives you 3 strikes. When a complaint is submitted the game warden investigates it and if he thinks we are at fault ,we get a strike. What this means is if you have a game warden in your area which does not like doghunting your in trouble. We have a person which leases 40 acres that borders us and refuses to even try to get along with us,but you let one of our dogs run a deer on his place he kills the deer, then calls the game warden to file a complaint. He had part of our land shut down last year because a puppy of ours walked into his grass patch why he was hunting.I am saying dont think this pe

Comments:I enjoy any hunting that involves hounds. I mainly deer hunt or fox/coyote hunt. I have dog deer hunted since I was big enough to follow my dad through the woods with the hounds. I got into fox and coyote hunting because I could not deer hunt year round and fox and coyote hunting is the closest thing I could find to deer hunting. I enjoy running in the foxpens as well as outside hunting. I currently have around 40 Running Walker hounds.

Comments:cToday I read the minutes of the May CAB meeting and it made my blood boil. Tony Wynn spoke at that meeting (pages 61-63). Mr. Wynn is president of a dog hunting club across the Warrior River from where I hunt. Back in the ‘70’s and 80’s I hunted open permit land on the east banks of the Warrior River. I remember well listening to the drives that Mr. Wynn had organized across the river as I stalk hunted on my side, and thinking about how I would love to be in that club if I ever decided to hunt with dogs. They made short, well organized drives, and wasted not time moving to a different area when the drive was winding down. It was obvious that they had control of their dogs, and knew what they were doing. I found the channel they used on the CB radio, and began to check in from time to time to see if they had killed any good bucks. Occasionally, they would tell me about one that had crossed the river, and asked if I had seen it. If a dog happened to follow one across the riv

Eventually, it became so restricted that joining a hunting club was the only reasonable way I could continue to hunt as I wanted to hunt. The first club I joined was located across the river just south of Mr. Wynn’s club. Half of our lease was reserved for stalk hunting and the other half was open for dog hunting. We never had any problems whatsoever with our neighbors to the north. The club I joined moved to another location, and I eventually dropped out because I did not feel at home in the woods of another region. I moved back to the banks of the Warrior River, this time a little more south, and stalk hunting was the only option. There were some issues with the members that I was not comfortable with there, and I started looking, once again, for a club to join in the area. Mr. Wynn happened to be needing a few club members, and I found the

Comments:Don, this is great! Our club is called the Cecil Archie Hunting Club, we hunt in Geneva County. We have 30 members (actually about 45 when you count the kids) We have been under the permit system for several years, and it has really worked great for us. Our conservation officers work with us, and on a county wide basis, we did NOT have a single varified dog hunting complaint this 2007-2008 season. The permit system has really gotten rid of the problem hunters and allowed the legal hunters to enjoy our sport.
